On the Water, Branford
This is a location only a few blocks from where I live, from a photograph taken a few months ago.
I have to resist the notion that my local sources have dried up, that there's nothing new to see around here. Nothing could be further from the truth.

In the 50s, Sacramento (1)
This is one of three pieces I did from the same great little bungalow in Sacramento. The pictures were taken on a visit there a few years ago. The title doesn't refer to a decade (I think this home was probably built in the 1940s) but to the street numbers of the residential areas as they extend out from the capitol. I think Sacramentans refer to the houses between 39th and 50th Streets as the Fabulous 40s, because so much of the real estate there is pretty plum. Maybe the next ten blocks should be called the Fascinating 50s. This little place, at least, held a lot of my interest.
I'll post the other versions soon.

Starter Homes
I will be posting pieces here as frequently as I can from an ongoing collection of postcard-sized (5"x7") paintings.
Their common theme is sunlight as it falls on houses,
or other (usually) residential phenomena. Some of my
source material dates all the way back to the early 80s,
but most are from photos that are only a few months,
or even a few days, old.
Locales so far include sites on the close-to-home Connecticut Shoreline, and in Northern California, Florida, New Mexico and Massachusetts.
The paintings are acrylic on canvas mounted on panel.
are ready for hanging, and will be offered for sale through
